These couplers are designed for up to 1 A per contact. They are also vertically self-centering, which effectively prevents unintended uncoupling (e.g.: at the transition from horizontal track to a gradient). Uncoupling – even delayed uncoupling – is possible. This allows you to provide a simple "power supply system” for the entire train and eliminates the need of having current pick-ups on each passenger car. This in turn reduces the load to be drawn by the locomotive. The couplers are supplied complete with two cables and fit into the standard NEM pocket.
