Qianjin (前进 - Advance) class steam locomotive, code-named as QJ, was designed and built by Dalian Locomotive and Rolling Stock Works in 1956. and was manufactured by Datong Locomotive Works after the type was finalized in 1964 . As a high-power locomotive, the QJ class steam locomotive delivered excellent traction efforts and great power at wheel rim. Four-axle tender and six-axle tender were respectively provided to the locomotive. The Qianjin steam locomotive was the primary freight hauling power on the main line of the People's Republic of China until the 90s.

Now, the QJ class steam locomotives can be found in the museums in China, Germany, and Japan. A railroad company in the United States has preserved two QJ class steam locomotives in working condition.

The model, can negotiate curves with a minimum radius of 420mm.
