ČSD double-decker units of the Bp series:

In the early 1960s, after good experiences with borrowed double-decker units, the Czechoslovak State Railways also ordered its own four-section double-decker units designated the Bp series. In the first phase, there were 20 units, designated by the numbers 900 - 919. Each double-decker unit consists of two end and two intermediate cars, mounted on two-axle and three-axle bogies. Three-axle bogies of the Jakobs type are located at the points where the individual parts of the double-decker unit are connected, while the two-axle bogies are located under its ends. With a 3+2 seating arrangement, each unit had a seating capacity of 410.

After good operational experience with the first 20 double-decker units, the Czechoslovak State Railways decided to order another 30 four-decker units, which were delivered in 1965. These units differed from the original 1962 design in some details. The most significant change was the change in the seating arrangement to 2+2, which reduced the total number of seats to 342. Another, clearly visible change was the installation of a luggage compartment at one end of the double-decker unit and the related addition of the driver's observation windows.

All double-decker units were painted in standard green with a grey roof and black running gear. In the original design, in addition to the standard lettering, the exterior appearance was supplemented with a large ČSD lettering with three adjacent yellow horizontal lines on both sides of the ČSD lettering, which as a whole evoked the symbol of a winged wheel. This design element, typical of the units, gave them an attractive appearance. And it was this design that became the model for the model of the double-decker unit Bp 931 from the home station Nový Bohumín, depicting the double-decker unit in its condition from the first half of the 1970s. The unit designation makes it clear that this is a model of a double-decker unit from the second series of deliveries from 1965 with a driver's viewing window. Unlike previous models of ČSD double-deckers manufactured by Rivarossi, this model is equipped with interier lighting, the functions of which can be further expanded by adding a decoder.
