Finally there is a contemporary replacement of the very popular and previously widespread class 78 in the form of a new design from PIKO - and with it the first steam locomotive in the Expert product line. The model hangs a little higher than the established standard of the Expert range. Almost all of the lines are free-standing, the driver's cab, water boxes and smoke chamber are decorated with the finest replicas of the rivet heads. Wheelset stars and controls could be made extremely filigree due to the materials used. The five-pole PIKO motor with a flywheel ensures excellent driving characteristics. Additional weights in the bowl and two traction tires ensure a high level of traction. Thanks to the modern PluX22 interface, retrofitting a decoder is child's play.
A loudspeaker and smoke generator can also be retrofitted with minimal effort. The direction-dependent lighting in LED design ensures an authentic operating atmosphere.
